Joscha Jenneßen

PHOTOGRAPHER / CAMERA OPERATOR

Joscha Jenneßen was born in Hamburg in 1970 and discovered his path into the world of images at an early age. After completing his training at the Hamburg School of Photography in 1992, he embarked on a journey that led him deep into the visual language of movement, technology, and emotion. As a photo assistant, he worked for several years with renowned photographers for automotive and fashion and was part of international productions for brands such as Mercedes Benz, Standox, and Castrol. An internship at MAT – Mad About Technology, developers of towercams and camera cranes, opened the door to the world of film technology for him. Here, Joscha also encountered Camera Cars Platforms, a company specializing in driving shots and car rigging – an environment in which dynamics, safety, and visual storytelling are inextricably linked. Since 1997, Joscha has taken on responsibility on a large scale: around 200 camera crane assignments, more than 100 assignments as a CamCar driver and car mount rigger, and over 120 film sets where he worked as a key grip for advertising, feature film, and cinema productions in Europe and the USA. His work has always been at the intersection of technical precision and narrative impact. In 2024, Joscha consciously returns to his roots: the camera itself. With his understanding of camera language and perspective, he tells stories through movement. His approach is characterized by adaptive storytelling—attentive, intuitive, and always open to the moment when technology becomes emotion and the image begins to speak.
