Giulia Palaia

AUTHOR / DIRECTOR

Giulia studied architecture, graphic art and relational design between Venice, Paris and Milan. She returned to Bolzano, her hometown, where she began working as a visual designer and approached cinema as an author, giving voice to a personal investigation that explores female figures in dialogue or conflict with their doubles. Selected by IDM Film Funding, she pursued a filmmaking mentorship with script editor Isabella Weber. She developed a photographic editorial project, Ius Sepulchri, at Yogurt Lab, which was further expanded during the FortezzaDonna artistic residency at Fortezza Fortress. She is currently in post-production on her third short film Tomorrow at Dawn and is writing Delcisa, with which she participated in the Veneto Writing Lab. She also participated in the Short Film Training Program MASO #1, developing Anita is a Fish with producer Luca Bedini.
