Stefania Bona is a cinematographer and camera operator driven by a deep love for images and the stories they hold. Her path began with photography, graphic design, and Fine Arts between Venice and Berlin—years filled with exploration, collaborations, and creative collectives that shaped her visual curiosity. She also shared this passion with the public as a cultural mediator at the Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, a role that taught her the power of making art accessible to people.
Drawn to Cinéma Vérité, Stefania then chose to focus on cinematography at ZeLIG Film School. After gaining experience on fiction sets as an assistant camera operator, she gradually discovered and refined her vision as a cinematographer. Since then, she has contributed to films screened at festivals such as Rotterdam IFF, DOK Leipzig, IDFA, Visions du Réel, Bellaria, Festival dei Popoli, Biografilm...
Guided by her fascination with ordinary people and the vast inner worlds they carry, Stefania Bona directed Gente dei Bagni (2014), a poetic portrait of the city’s last public baths. The film resonated with audiences, was selected for international festivals, and received awards.
